As we ring in the holidays and round out the year, I can’t help but feel a little sentimental. 2024 brought an electric pulse to the brand—always growing, always evolving, and always looking forward. But tonight, I’d love to take a moment to look back.
When I started this brand over a decade ago, I had a dream, a supportive partner, mentors who believed in me, and, honestly, no idea how to make it all work. I wore thirteen hats (despite being dubbed “baby head” in college, thankfully I look okay in hats)—designing, attempting bench work (my vision quickly outpaced my hand-eye coordination), photography, marketing, shipping, and even my taxes (questionably)—all while wondering if this leap of faith would land.
But here’s what I’ve learned in the years since: every piece of this journey has been made possible by people. The incredible team who brings ideas to life, the artisans and setters who obsess over every detail, the cheerleaders who root for us every step of the way, and most importantly—you. The friends behind the orders. The couples celebrating love, the women marking their big promotions, the dads buying their daughters their first diamonds, and those creating time capsules by repurposing their parents' heirlooms.
This year alone, our all-women team launched 13 collections (over 100 new evergreen pieces) and crafted 250+ one-of-a-kind designs that tell your stories. We collaborated with architect Evan Wiskup to create my favorite collection to date, hosted open studios and events at my home, designed jewelry for the biggest star on the planet to wear on sport’s biggest night, and even created an original scripted series, The One, because, why not?
Internally, this year was filled with love, loss, and all the beautiful chaos in between. We said goodbye to colleagues, welcomed new faces who brightened our days, and celebrated huge wins (like a lost package miraculously showing up just in time). We laughed at each other’s idiosyncrasies—Christina’s candy obsession and her would-be podcast Call Your Dentist, Emma’s go-to phone opener, “What time is it there?” and Coya’s knack for starting every solution with “Oh hey, did you know…” (and per Bela, allegedly, I constantly declare “100 per-cent!” accompanied by a sassy eye roll). Despite challenges, like a string of lights, when one bulb dimmed, we came together to keep the whole strand glowing, all while keeping our wits.
I know a little bit of what 2025 has in store, but whatever it may hold, I’m so grateful it will be shared with all of you. Some of you are quietly planning surprise proposals (and some of you are getting engaged without even knowing it yet). Others have worked alongside us, sharing stories of your own loves and losses—those moments of connection have been my absolute favorite—you’ll be heading into 2025 with that new armor.
Whether you’re spending the holidays tucked away at home with family (real or chosen) or traveling to new places and crossing paths with devilishly-handsome Dev Patel look-alikes, I hope you do it all in the jewelry that brings you joy.
Thank you for including us in your lives.
Happy Holidays,
SK
