Jewelry Care
Insurance
Upon its arrival, we recommend insuring your jewelry right away. This can be done as a rider to your renter’s or homeowner’s insurance, or through a dedicated policy - we recommend Jeweler’s Mutual. We are happy to provide you with a receipt for replacement value (what you paid) upon request. Your insurance rider should include loss, loss of just the center stone, and theft.
Damage Prevention
We recommend removing your jewelry when engaging in activities that involve heavy use of your hands like going to the gym or washing dishes. As well as before showering, applying lotion, spraying perfume, etc. At bedtime to prevent jewelry getting caught in bedding and potentially causing prongs to become loose, we advise removing your jewels to be safe.
Cleaning
To clean your diamond jewelry, we recommend using a soft toothbrush, dish soap, and warm water. For Engagement Rings, make sure to work the bristles under the basket to remove any build up from daily wear. For a deeper clean, our Foaming Jewelry Cleaner and Click Pen are safe to use on diamonds and precious gemstones. Additionally, polishing your jewelry daily or weekly will help remove fingerprints, oils, tarnishes, dirt, scratches, and dullness from your jewelry. We recommend using the Sunshine Polishing Cloth to help keep your pieces looking brand new.
Storage
To avoid scratches and dings, store your jewelry in a safe place where they won’t bang against each other such as a jewelry box or catchall dish. Additionally, keeping pieces in separate jewelry pouches is recommended to prevent damage and to stay organized.
