Heirlooms to Wearlooms: Before & After the Redesigns

JEWELRY TRANSFORMATIONS
JEWELRY TRANSFORMATIONS

If you've followed us for a while, you know that we love redesign work. Although it can be nerve-wracking working with heirloom stones, there is something so special about reworking a sentimental piece and turning it into something that our clients can wear every day and be reminded of their loved ones. Read on for before and after photos as well as the stories behind our favorite transformations from this past year.

ASYMMETRICAL HOOP STUDS + ROTATING STONE CURVED BAND

Our client, Ari, came to us with two family rings that were gifted to her by her father. We had previously created a custom "moval" engagement ring for Ari, so she was hoping to create a wedding band that was just as unique using the stones above. After some thinking, we worked with Ari to create her wedding band using some of her family stones as well as alternative stones in different shapes - something old and something new all in one piece! Keeping in mind the unique nature of her stack, Ari asked us to use the rest of her heirloom stones to create a pair of one-of-a-kind earrings that she could wear on her wedding day; this is how the asymmetrical hoop studs came to be.

DYNAMIC STACK

Taylor came to us after inheriting the above necklace from her great grandmother. After just a few emails, a full on project began when we realized the redesign potential her heirloom pieces had to offer! Before we knew it, we had created a full on stack!

ZIRCON GAP BAND

Our friend and client, Jan, came to us with the above three rings in hopes to turn them into something more modern. The blue zircon was particularly special to her as it was made for her 15th birthday by her grandfather, who was a jeweler and hand engraver. To highlight this special stone, we created a custom gap band with the blue zircon being the focal-point of the ring. We also added in two of her other family diamonds as well as some new ones to create a one-of-a-kind ring with a whole new look.
